Whacking Khalil Gibran
by SpazticOrange on Aug.03, 2007, under Ye Olde Blogger Posts
I start to think that not many people want to embrace the fact that God is the sole redeemer of life (and these are Christians I’m talking about). Heck, read this quote from a Christian Poet and writer, Khalil Gibran.
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
and though they are with you, and yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday.
If you’ve actually read that, you’d agree with me that some idiotic publisher must have paid some good money to get Khalil to write that. I think he must have thought that if he wrote about God and holiness and all that, not many people would read his works. So work with the commercially corrupted bastards and write something like this.
I mean what’s the whole purpose of having children then? And why believe in God if all that Khalil said is true? Screw mental appreciation. I want more and more ideas so that I can bring people closer to God.
Children are God’s creation. It has nothing to do with life producing kids so that they belong to life and crap like that. Life is not a short term thing. It goes on even after earthly death as eternal life in heaven or hell (you choose).
I really don’t have much to say. So good night everyone.
